Skin cancer and melanoma
Skin cancers are common. Melanoma is the most serious skin cancer and unfortunately is on the increase more than any other cancer in Britain. It is now the 5th most common cancer in the UK. Any new skin spot should be checked and any skin spot that has changed in colour, become darker, or lighter, increased in size, itches or bleeds warrants an urgent consultation.
What to look for:
- Any unusual NEW skin spot must be reviewed at least by your GP
- Any existing skin spot that has changed in colour, become darker, or lighter, increased in size, itches or bleeds warrants an urgent consultation
