Benign breast disease
There are a wide range of breast symptoms resulting from benign processes in the breast. The breast is very sensitive to the monthly hormonal changes, pregnancy and breast feeding. After menopause, women will also experience the glands in the breast start to get shrink and be replaced with fat. Losing weight or taking hormones can also affect how the breast feels.
Cysts are also a common occurrence. These are cavities filled with fluid and present as a lump which is sometimes painful. A new lump must not be assumed to be another cyst.
