How does it work?
A tiny needle is used to flush the thread vein with a sclerosing solution. The solution irritates the lining of the vein, causing the walls to stick together and with time disappear.
Before treatment you will have a consultation with our doctor and discuss your aims and areas of treatment.
It’s a safe treatment. Immediate side effects are: Redness, welts, prickling or itching, settling within hours. But like any injection there is risk of infection and bruising. Some patients may suffer brown staining at the site of injection which tends to fade with time ( it may take up to 12 months)
Sclerotherapy is not suitable if you are pregnant, previous history of deep vein thrombosis (blood clot) or suffered from severe allergic reactions.
